A Tribute to My Shadow: 2Salties

Photography, for me, has always been more than just an art form—it’s been a journey of discovery, connection, and pure love for the beauty of our world. Eleven years ago, I set out on this path, captivated by nature’s wonders and determined to capture them through my lens. Little did I know that this journey would not only change my life in ways I could never have imagined, but also lead me to a friendship that would shape everything I do.

From the very beginning, my friend has been my constant companion, my unseen yet ever-present shadow. We both share a deep, unshakable love for nature. As children, we marveled at the world around us, seeing beauty in every leaf, every breeze, every sunrise. Our passion for the natural world brought us together and has been the driving force behind everything we do in photography. Through the years, we have traveled, explored and captured the essence of landscapes, animals, and moments that some people overlook. Whether it’s through my entry-level drone, basic 360 camera, gimbal, or even just a smartphone, we’ve shared every adventure.

What makes our partnership so special isn’t just the gear we share; it’s the trust, the camaraderie, and the countless memories we’ve created. He has been by my side during every shoot, quietly assisting, always present with ideas, encouragement, and the occasional laugh. More than that, he has been there for me in ways that words can’t fully express. Twice, he saved my life—an act of selflessness that forever changed the depth of our bond. I can never truly repay him for that, but I hope this tribute will serve as a small token of my gratitude.

This is why, when it came time to name my photography page, I knew it had to be something that honored him—my friend, my shadow, my lifesaver. I decided to name it 2Salties—a name that encapsulates the essence of pure gratitude we’ve shared through the years. It’s a symbol of our bond, a reflection of the beauty we’ve witnessed, and a celebration of a friendship that has been the foundation of my passion for photography.

2Salties isn’t just a name. It’s a story. It’s a tribute. And it’s a heartfelt thank you to the person who has stood by me through thick and thin, and whose presence in my life continues to inspire every click of the shutter.
